Privacy Policy

Effective: 29 August 2026 · Last updated: 31 August 2026 · Applies to the MicroCoach mobile app and microcoach.site

MicroCoach is operated by Sabil Ahmad ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app collects, what it deliberately does not, and how to remove it.

1. The short version

You can use MicroCoach without giving us your name, your email address or any profile information. Accounts are anonymous by default. Your saved learning library, flashcards, quiz results and statistics are stored on your own device. Our backend briefly retains the generated response associated with a completed generation request so a retry does not consume another allowance or purchase credit. That response and its request record are automatically removed after 30 days, or sooner if you delete your account.

2. What we store on our servers

When you use MicroCoach, our servers hold only the following:

DataWhy
An anonymous account identifier (a random UUID) with creation and update timestamps To associate your daily allowance and purchases with an account. It contains no name or contact detail.
A daily lesson-generation countTo enforce the free daily allowance and your plan's limits.
Lesson generation requests: a request identifier, a hash of the request, status, which allowance was used, and the generated lesson So a repeated request returns the same lesson instead of charging you twice, and so a failed generation can be recovered. Completed request payloads and their request records are automatically removed after 30 days.
Purchase records forwarded by the app store via RevenueCat To confirm entitlements. We never receive your card details.

We do not operate advertising, we do not sell data, and we do not build advertising profiles.

3. What stays on your device

Your saved library, flashcards, quiz attempts, review history, streaks, statistics and app settings are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded as learning-history records. Deleting the app removes those local records. A generated response retained for request recovery is removed after 30 days, or immediately when you delete your account.

4. If you link a Google account

Linking Google is optional and exists so your account can survive a lost or replaced device. If you link it, we receive the account identifier Google issues for MicroCoach and the basic profile information Google makes available through the sign-in flow. Your learning history remains stored locally on your device.

5. Topics you type

The topic you enter is sent to our AI provider to screen it for safety and to write the lesson. Topics are limited in length and are sent with a random request identifier as user content, never as instructions to the model. Please do not enter personal or confidential information as a lesson topic.

6. App updates

When the app opens, it checks Expo Application Services for a signed update. Expo may process the device operating system, our project identifier, network information such as an IP address, and a randomized installation token used to determine whether that installation requested an update. The update request does not contain your MicroCoach account identifier or learning content.

7. Processors

ProcessorPurpose
GroqScreens topics for safety and generates lesson content
Supabase (self-hosted on our own server)Accounts, allowance accounting and lesson records
Expo Application ServicesChecks for and delivers signed application updates
RevenueCatValidates purchases and entitlements
Apple App Store / Google PlayProcess all payments. We never see your payment details.
SentryCrash and error diagnostics, when enabled

Crash diagnostics may contain an error type and stack trace, app/build and release channel, device and OS details, language, timezone, orientation, connectivity, battery, memory and storage information. We disable screenshots, session replay, network-request capture, user identity, breadcrumbs, and lesson or topic content.

8. Retention

Most server records are kept while your account exists. Completed lesson-generation payloads and their request records are automatically removed after 30 days. Content reports are retained for up to 90 days for moderation and safety review, unless they are deleted sooner with your account. Encrypted operational backups are retained for up to 35 days, after which deleted records age out of the backup cycle. Transaction or fraud-prevention records are retained only where and for as long as law requires.

9. Deleting everything

In the app: Profile → Delete Account. This deletes your server account and its records, your RevenueCat customer record, and every lesson, card, quiz attempt, review log, statistic and setting on the device. It cannot be undone.

Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel that separately in your store account.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, and to receive a portable copy of eligible personal data. To make a privacy request, write to privacy@microcoach.site. Because accounts are anonymous, we may be unable to identify your records from an email address alone; the in-app deletion above is the reliable route.

11. Children

MicroCoach is not directed to children under 13. Where local law requires a higher minimum age to consent to online services, that higher age applies. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable minimum age. A parent or guardian who believes a child has used MicroCoach may contact us to request deletion.

12. Changes

Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date.
